Mission Statement.

My ultimate goal in life is to achieve success in the Fashion Industry even if it mean I have to claw my way to the top. I will not, however, give up my personal values or degrade myself in anyway. Determination and hard-work are the main ingredients to this life long goal. I plan on achieving this goal by staying in school, working extremely hard, and going out of my way to make myself win.

Internet Shopping & its Affects on In-Store Retailing During Holiday Seasons.

How many of us can seriously say we have NEVER browsed the Internet looking for things we've either wanted or needed. Everyone can admit to having either an EBay or Amazon account, or maybe even both. This new wave is one of the most convenient thing to happen to those people who have way too much to do to shop the old fashioned way. So they shop at work or when the baby is taking a nap. But do you really think this convenience is really all that convenient to EVERYONE? What about the actually STORE?

Over the past 5 years or so, online shopping or E-Tailing has grown tremendously. This generates billions of dollars yearly for millions of different companies all over the world. People enjoy the luxury of staying in bed and ordering gifts fir their entire family during Christmas season, with just the click of a mouse. Receiving the gift two days later and not having to pay sale taxes doesn't hurt that much either. Or even ordering something that is impossible to find in Florida, but can be found in New York or even Japan is another reason people have flocked to online shopping. Research and statistics have shown that online shopping is even cheaper then going into the actually store, it saves time, and is even more safe.

The stores however, are feeling the rafts of Internet shopping. Working in retail during the holidays, or maybe just any other time, can sometimes be painful with extra long hours and not many customers to serve. This puts a lot of people in debt, especially for those who own small businesses (mom-and-pop stores), and out of work. it also causes a lot of people and businesses to meet holiday quotas and causes a lot of them to shut down or shrink in size. Some stores however, provide a particular environment that some people enjoy and makes a lot of them go back to the stores. This may include the music a store plays, the furniture, or even being able relate to the sale associates. There will ALWAYS be people who like the being-in-a-store feeling, which maybe a ray of sunshine on those stores, who have been rained on by the new phenomena of Internet shopping.
